...since I last blogged. That, while tragic, is the purest definition of what happens in my life - between work and school and kids and home and taking pictures and scrapping projects, I don't have much time for blogging. But I had to post a few pictures here before my friends trash my blog on their blogs -
Angelica is an extremely good hula-hooper. She puts her brother and sister to shame -
Dylan can't get the hula hoop to do a complete rotation around his waist more than twice - it's ok, baby - you're a solid hockey player.
Melody doesn't even attempt to hula hoop - instead she's a great photo model for mommy.
Truth be told, I'm in a funky funk. Real life had bogged me down. I hadn't really broken out the camera that much since my last post. But that will change this week - with the weather getting sunnier than it had been lately and fall foliage in full swing for the next couple of weeks here in Southern New England.
In fact, I took a break from studying for this Wednesday's Microbiology test to take the kids and the dogs for a walk to the park behind our house. I never go out walking (and lately, my left hip has given me issues - don't ask - I wish I knew - it's on and off for the last couple of weeks, which could explain part of my funk) nor do I ever go to the park behind the house, nevermind take the dogs out. But Dylan asked so I obliged - besides, I needed a break from trying to memorize all my Gram negative facultative rods....took a few shots in the park...
Here are the 3 kids with our 3 dogs - as soon as we got to the park, they all made a run for it. Melody (on the far left) is running with Daisy. Dylan (in the middle) is running with Odie. And Angel is running with Buster (on the right). Daisy and Buster are Pembroke Welsh Corgis, Odie is a dachshund and the kids are half Filipino/half Irish mixed.
Love this picture of Dylan - the sunglare (the little green circle on the top right) could be avoided by using a lens hood (I have one but I don't use it - I don't know why - I think maybe it's just because my camera/lens is bulky enough - or I'm too lazy to do it). Nonetheless, I just noticed that Dylan looks like he's giving birth to Odie - that's ok - I love the little kid in this picture and the leaves and the colors and the fuzziness of the background...it works for me.
I took this picture of Angel walking Buster as we were leaving the park. I wish Buster's bum was more attractive - but on the bright side, it blends in with the leaves and he doesn't have any dingleberries.
Unfortunately, I didn't get very many pictures of Melody at the park with Daisy. When I went to pose her in the same place as Dylan and Angel, they took off with Odie and Buster and Odie's collar and leash came undone so we had Dylan screaming for help before Odie ran into the street on the other side of the park - I am not a runner - and I'm definitely an even worse runner with my 50D hanging across my body with a 4 year old in one hand and a dog on a leash in the other. No worries, though, I caught up to the Odie and Dylan and got his collar and leash back on (Odie's, not Dylan's).
Wish me luck on my next microbiology test - this Wednesday - and then it's back to making more time to take more pictures. Especially since I successfully transferred all my photos onto my external hard drive and freed up my C:\ drive. I swear - it's the little things that keep me going...
